David Anderson
President, Chief Executive Officer
Dave joined Merit as CEO and President in 2021. For the past two decades, he has served in executive roles in the insurance industry, driving growth and profitability at National Guardian Life Insurance Co., InsPro Technologies, SCOR SE, and TIAA Life Insurance Company. Previously, Dave had a 27 year career at Thrivent. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a BA in Business Administration from Concordia College.

N. David Kuperstock
Vice President, Senior Advisor
David, Vice President and Senior Advisor at Merit, has nearly 40 years of experience working in the insurance industry. He is the former Vice President at Prudential Annuities and also worked at Prudential in legal and product innovation roles. David is a named inventor on a number of industry patents. He received his JD from the DePaul University College of Law and a BA from the University of Chicago.

Cliff Merrill, CFA
Chief Distribution & Product Officer
Cliff is Chief Distribution & Product Officer at Merit. Previously, he served 16 years at Prudential Financial in investment and distribution roles. There, he oversaw the firm’s $180 billion annuity platform and led design for retirement income products. Cliff has an MBA from Columbia University and undergraduate degrees in Economics and History from Colgate University. He earned his CFA designation and is a member of the Stamford, CT CFA Society.

Heather Gordon
Chief Financial Officer / Chief Actuary
Heather joined Merit Life Insurance as Chief Financial Officer/Chief Actuary in December 2022. Prior to Merit, Heather has accumulated over 25 years of experience with a variety of life and annuity products at organizations in the insurance industry including Ohio National, AIG, Forethought and Nationwide. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Actuarial Science, from The Ohio State University and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Amy Pramer
Chief of Staff, Head of Marketing
Amy is Chief of Staff and Head of Marketing at Merit. She has over 20 years of experience in Senior Marketing and Communications roles for asset management companies including Legg Mason and Morgan Stanley. She began her career at American Skandia. Amy holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a BS from Southern Connecticut State University as well as Series 6 and 63 licenses.

Martin Woll
Chief Operating Officer
Martin joined Merit in 2022 as Chief Operating Officer. He has worked in a variety of finance and insurance related roles and is the former Chief Operating Officer of Equitable’s Individual Retirement Business (formerly AXA Group’s U.S. based subsidiary). While at Equitable, he spearheaded and had overall P&L responsibility for the firm’s entry into the Institutional Savings market. Martin currently holds multiple FINRA licenses and received his BA in Political Science, cum laude, from Indiana University with concentrations in Business, International Economics and Russian and Eastern European Studies.
